On a chilly Saturday morning in January, Polar Bears and even a Mermaid braved the elements (it was 45 degrees!), all to raise money to help feed the homeless in the community.
Participating Bears were Blizzard Deana, Aqua Dawn, Shiver Janine, Chilly Cliff, Mermaid Alexis, Jumpin’ Judy, and A2K Trio- Ethan, Matt, and Mikey. Each Bear solicited sponsors to help raise funds. All money raised was divided between Dignity Missions from Little River Methodist Church and Hopes Kitchen at the Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church in North Myrtle Beach.
The Top Prize winner for most money raised was Blizzard Diana, raising $1,610; a close second was A2K Trio, raising $1,442. The best costume winner was Mermaid Alexis.
The total money raised for the event was $8,071 to feed the homeless in the local community!
Bridgewater residents did a fantastic job coming together to help others in the local community. To quote Robert Ingersoll, “We rise by lifting others" and that's precisely what they did.
